What we do & why

Support for New Life is committed to promoting social inclusion of older people living in greater London through activities and workshops. This includes exercise sessions, Zumba, yoga classes, nutrition workshops, and mental health awareness workshops that are free to our members.

Pre-covid, most older adults were already negatively affected by isolation and loneliness, and the pandemic has only made the situation worse.

Older people can become socially isolated for a variety of reasons such as retiring, no longer being the hub of their family, death of spouses and friends, or through disability or illness.

Most older people find it difficult to reach  out due to the stigma associated with loneliness.

Loneliness and isolation of an older people can lead to depression and serious decline in physical health and mental well-being.
